metsfan Posted June 21, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 21, 2009 Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7A341 Safari/528.16) This is from my girlfriend, who knew him. The pilots that were on the tarmac in special uniform. They put his casket in as the last baggage and saluted. They waited on the Tarmac with the plane. When the plane moved away, they saluted till it was out of their line of sight. The firetrucks and the police cars were out there too. When the plane passed them, all of their lights and sirens started to flashing and blaring. She said it brought her to tears, poignant, fitting. The name of the pilot has not been released, so I will respect that and hope his family finds solace in their hour of loss and greif. -
