EE Broadway Local 18 Posted November 9, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 9, 2007 Which Eighth Avenue IND Line do you ride regularly and what do you like/dislike about it?
sebbieprops 0 Posted November 9, 2007 Share #2 Posted November 9, 2007 I don't normally ride on the 8th Avenue IND lines, but whenever I do, it's the . I live in the Bronx, near the Simpson St. (2)/(5) station, so whenever I have to go to Manhattan or Brooklyn, I take the IND. The times that I do go on the , it's when I'm taking the Bx35 (the 167th St. crosstown) to the Concourse and then downtown from there. I'd say that the is a very efficient line. I'm not disappointed. The ( isn't bad either.
Brighton Local 703 Posted November 9, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 9, 2007 I used to always ride the E between West 4th St and Chambers-World Trade Center. Other then that, usually the A, if I needed A quick ride into Midtown; hence, the E again, when going between Chambers - World Trade to Midtown-51-53 Sts / Lex Av for the Lex Local-
INDman 414 Posted November 9, 2007 Share #4 Posted November 9, 2007 When it comes to 8th Ave, I would have to say the line, but only when im on an R32 or R38. The line is a very close second.

This weekend, SB (D)s are running via 8th Avenue from 59th to W4th..... As for my favorite 8th Avenue line, I would go with the because that actually shows up better. R32 3348 11 Posted November 9, 2007 Share #6 Posted November 9, 2007 I think sebbieprops meant for the entire duration of the Eighth Avenue Line. (Which took me a while to get, I was like WHAT?!?) I ride the E regularly, but not in Manhattan. I love the headways, not the R32s so much. Great car, just keep them away from the E.
sebbieprops 0 Posted November 9, 2007 Share #7 Posted November 9, 2007 I think sebbieprops meant for the entire duration of the Eighth Avenue Line. Yes, that is what I meant. Sorry about the confusion. Of the , and , then, I assume you meant. Of those, I'd say I take the most often, but even then, I don't take it very often. EE Broadway Local 18 Posted November 10, 2007 Author Share #8 Posted November 10, 2007 How would you feel about an R46 train? While I like the R32 Brightliners, they are getting on in years and I think an R46 would look cool.

While I like the R32 Brightliners, they are getting on in years and I think an R46 would look cool. I wouldn't mind. The R46s are great trains. If I'm in the feeling of railfanning the and want an R32 but an R46 comes, I'll just simply wait for the next train, ain't no biggie. The next train is bound to be an R32. sebbieprops 0 Posted November 11, 2007 Share #10 Posted November 11, 2007 I'm pretty indifferent when it comes to the R32 vs. the R46. I don't really prefer one over the other.
