Dj Hammers Posted June 26, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 26, 2009 I just got back from a trip to the transit museum. I was just wondering, can the R10, R16, and R34 (ex R11) sitting there still run or are these cars dead? Could somebody shine some light on this question? INDman Posted June 26, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 26, 2009 I think they are all dead, I'm not 100% sure but I thought I heard someone say that.
Bdwy Line C/R Posted June 26, 2009 Share #3 Posted June 26, 2009 DOA. CI shops pulled the traction motors b4 they went to the museum. Those cars are towed in by diesel work motors. (NJT) :nec:
trainfan22 Posted June 26, 2009 Share #4 Posted June 26, 2009 Why did CI yard take out the traction motors on the R10-16s? That sucks as I always wondered what the R11 sounds like.
Fan Railer Posted June 29, 2009 Share #5 Posted June 29, 2009 i would think they sound the same as any other GE powered subway car in the system. they used GE 1240B motors.
