EE Broadway Local Posted November 10, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 10, 2007 If you were a train operator and had seniority at pick time, which line would you choose and why? (i.e. Division, cars assigned, length/variety of run, etc.)
Brighton Local Posted November 10, 2007 Share #2 Posted November 10, 2007 BMT Southern : In order: Q Brighton Local B Brighton Express D West End Local then : N Sea Beach Local W Broadway Local R Broadway Local F Culver IRT Flushing Local and / or Express 7 Baby! =)
Pablo M 201 Posted November 10, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 10, 2007 First, I would wanna try an R32 on Brighton line then an R160 on Brighton Express. Then an R160 on the Sea Beach express.
INDman Posted November 10, 2007 Share #4 Posted November 10, 2007 If I could get any lines I would want the B D Q N because they run out of CIY so I could just take the F train to Ave X (the F line is a blck from my house) also I like the R40/42s they have on the B. The N has some R160s, the D is an IND line in the city and the Bronx. NOw the Q is just some good old BMT the whole ride. If not, I would love to pick the C out of Euclid Ave. The F would be cool too if I got a put in from Ave X yard, I would not have to go all the way to Jamacia to start my run. And all of these runs would be Monday thru Friday 9 to
Tracknut Posted November 10, 2007 Share #5 Posted November 10, 2007 I always wanted to pilot a 4 down Lexington on the express. It must be a blast to do that.

DOB2RTO Posted November 11, 2007 Share #9 Posted November 11, 2007 IND/BMT: If there was a straight D out of the Concourse, then that line. It is so close to home. Second would be a straight A, as it is close too. IRT: Straight 1 line first choice. Second choice straight 2 line.
NJTransitFan Posted November 12, 2007 Share #10 Posted November 12, 2007 I would like to operate the famous A train on its full length. That would be a nice long ride. Give me the R1/9 museum train on the A line and I can die a happy man.
error46146 Posted November 12, 2007 Share #11 Posted November 12, 2007 R32 on the A would be awesome!! especially on the part between JFK airport and Broad Channel Or maybe R32 on the N
Pelham Bay Dave Posted November 12, 2007 Share #12 Posted November 12, 2007 Yeah thats always fun operating an R 32 on the Flats. I guess I really don't count since I am already a T/O but my favorite B Div line to operate is B LIne with a R 40 SLaint. It was too bad as an Extra I only seen the line four times in two years because those T/O's come to work every day they don't take time off. Pablo M 201 Posted November 14, 2007 Share #17 Posted November 14, 2007 (or R33s if it was possible to ressurect them)Well, if I were you, I would take any Redbird that still on the road. Or you could always try to get this.... Zach, remember this?
RTOMan Posted November 15, 2007 Share #18 Posted November 15, 2007 Well MY Choice is obvious... Even though i am a T/O i will say this also next to my "obvious" choice the Bravo and Nancy is next.. trainfan22 Posted November 15, 2007 Share #19 Posted November 15, 2007 a r142 on the 2 or 5 lines or a r32 on the E and a r40 sltant on the B line no 75ft cars because those look hard to drive
Ghostface Brown Posted November 15, 2007 Share #20 Posted November 15, 2007 Does Antrak count? If so, the Metroliner/Regional, if it's only the subway, then the or trains.

RTOMan Posted November 16, 2007 Share #22 Posted November 16, 2007 What did you dislike about the IRT lines the most? Too many trains.. Far too many Slow Train Operators.. The only line that i was able to move the train for a minute was the 1 and 7 Lines, but i worked for every minute and every trip. Still i came to the B Div to learn new Equpiment new Lines and for most part.. Im moving the train without all the stop and go that i had for 5 years in the A Div.. Thats is what makes your arms tired and messes with your hands too much controller movement..
DOB2RTO Posted November 16, 2007 Share #23 Posted November 16, 2007 Forget any of the numbered Lines worked them all and cant stand any of them. IRT hater, huh?
RTOMan Posted November 16, 2007 Share #24 Posted November 16, 2007 IRT hater, huh? Oh no i dont hate, hate is an ugly word.. Now that im "able" to have a "choice" on which Div i can work i will take the B Div, thanks.. 5 years was enough for me, thanks and i could have had 5 days at Van Cortlandt (10 minutes from my place) and i STILL went to the B Div.. "You can take me out of the IRT but you cant take the IRT out of me" As my good buddy Pelham Bay Dave would say..
DOB2RTO Posted November 16, 2007 Share #25 Posted November 16, 2007 Thats is what makes your arms tired and messes with your hands too much controller movement.. Well my hands are trained to grab around things, hold them firmly, and push and pull back and forth for long periods of time.
