David Paterson has appointed former MTA Chairman Richard Ravitch as lieutenant governor -- in theory -- being able to break the deadlocked state Senate. Link will expire after a few days. Andrew Cuomo, the state's attorney general, has stated that Paterson doesn't have the authority to appoint a lieutenant governor, so this could face some pitfalls.
