Amtrak7 Posted July 9, 2009 Share #8 Posted July 9, 2009 Nice! The first shot really shows the conditions of the Culver viaduct. When I see track with weeds, I think of little-used freight lines, not a line with frequent, heavy subways. The Rockaways isn't that safe of a neighborhood in my viewpoint, but how safe are the stations? I know they are very good railfanning locations... You don't have to worry...photography is legal as long as it isn't flash. You should print a copy of the MTA rules (specifically the section of photography) and show that to cops the next time they hassle you.
mark1447 Posted July 9, 2009 Author Share #13 Posted July 9, 2009 You don't have to worry...photography is legal as long as it isn't flash. You should print a copy of the MTA rules (specifically the section of photography) and show that to cops the next time they hassle you. I know about that, but cops still stall you sometimes, asking that its not cute or whats the poing if there are millions of pics out there and bs. So i dont take the risk being a station with a cop. Unless I really need to. Especially cops who are different race from you can also be a bit of a nut case!

FamousNYLover Posted July 12, 2009 Share #25 Posted July 12, 2009 Thanks! Never heard of that Diner tho. Was that in Broad Channel? That use to be on Beach 116th St & Newport Av by across from Q35 bus. Because of my article, health inspector found out my favorite diner had health code violation. I was surpsise when it was gone.
