The ARC study

I would like to get the opinions of the members of this site on the ARC (Access to the Region's Core) study on THE tunnel. We need this second two track tunnel bad. This could mean direct service into New York for a lot of commuters without transfers. They have almost half of the $8 billion needed to fund the project.

THE tunnel would be great for the area and a giant relief for all them NJ Transit commuters that get in and out of Manhattan every weekday. Fortunately for me the four times that I rode thru the current tunnel it was with out delay. Unfortunately for a friend of mine, who travels that route on a daily basis, its been a kind of rollercoaster ride for him. For the most part he tells me its usually okay.

The existing two track section that travels under the hudson is the busiest two track railroad in the country. Trains run almost every two minutes along that line in both directions.
