Novabus 5000 Posted July 18, 2009 Share #1 Posted July 18, 2009 Although the never bought these I am in the process of completing an order of 30 2006 New Flyer D40LF hybrid paper buses for . These buses are numbered 7000-7030 and so far demo buses 7000 and 7001 have been delivered and are waiting to be fixed as there are many incorrect things on them. The first production bus, 7002 has been delivered for good and is assigned to East New York. East New York has 7000 and 7001 as well and is getting 7000-7015. I am going to put up pics of the paper buses online and the ones folded soon.

Novabus 5000 Posted July 19, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted July 19, 2009 Very nice Thanks! 7000-7002 are in at East New York. Demo Buses 7000 and 7001 have been retired and the production buses 7000 and 7001 are here. Also a mockup of CTA 1000 and Translink bus 3309 is at MTA for service testing as well. I will put up pics later.
rmcconnell Posted July 20, 2009 Share #4 Posted July 20, 2009 The D40LF is a straight diesel bus, not a hybrid. The DE40LF is the hybrid version of the D40LF and there's a battery pack enclosure on the roof, as illustrated here.

Queens Surface Posted July 21, 2009 Share #6 Posted July 21, 2009 If you want to have a "fantasy" of a hybrid D40LF make a DE40LF.
