From the Sound Transit website: http://www.soundtransit.org/x10828.xml

The Central Link light rail opened yesterday, 18 July 2009.

Fare collection begins tomorrow, Monday 20 July 2009.

Central Link links Downtown Seattle with Tukwila, a southern suburb. It will be extended to the SeaTac International Airport in December. Currently, there is a shuttle bus that can shuttle passengers from Tukwila International Blvd Station to the Airport.

Central Link shares the right of way with buses between Westlake and International District in the famous Downtown Bus Tunnel. There, passengers would have the opportunity to transfer to local buses. The section between Westlake and International District is charged.

Adult fares will range between $1.75 to $2.50. Seniors will pay $0.75 to $1.25. Children (youth) will pay $1.25 to $2.00. Fares are distance based, not zoned. http://www.soundtransit.org/Documents/pdf/riding/LinkFares.pdf

Fares will be paid by either ORCA or single journey tickets (vended from TVMs)
