lilbluefoxie Posted July 21, 2009 Share #1 Posted July 21, 2009 No im not David Pirman, I just happened upon his photo on nycsubway. I wanted to see what would it have been like if they ruined the front end of the redbirds like they did on the R32s. Keep in mind this isnt real, the MTA never did this to the redbirds, its a photo-manipulation.
Ken S. Posted July 21, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 21, 2009 Um, how many ways can I say no to that idea?
lilbluefoxie Posted July 21, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted July 21, 2009 Dont get me wrong, I cant stand the front end of the R32, but I just wanted to see what it would look like on its cousin the R33/
Ken S. Posted July 21, 2009 Share #4 Posted July 21, 2009 Dont get me wrong, I cant stand the front end of the R32, but I just wanted to see what it would look like on its cousin the R33/36 The R33/36 isn't really the cousin to the R32. The Redbirds were SLCC products and the R32 is a Budd product.
lilbluefoxie Posted July 21, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted July 21, 2009 I meant in looks, not mechanics, they have the similar front end style, and the same 3 space rollsign
LRG Posted July 21, 2009 Share #6 Posted July 21, 2009 Thank goodness they didn't do this...it just doesn't fit in right with the Redbirds mainly because they're painted. It's like seeing an R142A with a rollsign, either at the top or adjacent to the storm door. It just wouldn't look right.

Q25toJamaica Posted July 23, 2009 Share #8 Posted July 23, 2009 I agree, the R32s looked much better with the rollsigns in front

R44 5278 Posted July 23, 2009 Share #12 Posted July 23, 2009 You should all take a look at the GE R32 and R38 flipdots. That area should be much more appealing even though all the spots for the actual signs are visible but sealed up.
