Trainspotter Posted November 19, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 19, 2007 City toasts $1.3B in federal cash for 2nd Ave. subway New York leaders and federal officials met Monday in New York to celebrate $1.3 billion in federal aid to build the long-stalled Second Avenue subway, a dream that has lain dormant longer than Rip Van Winkle. The money, spread out over 7 years, is earmarked for the first phase of what ultimately aims to be a line running down the East Side of Manhattan from Harlem to the financial district.
