nel070 0 #4 Posted August 3, 2009 thay never left even when the went to smee they still maintained some sets of 46s does the jamaica yard have enough smee left to have all 13 sets of (V)s be smee i dont think so and so they will always be some sets of 46s on the

error46146 1,007 #7 Posted August 4, 2009 i think the 46's are not going to leave the V for a while lol theres plenty of 46's to go around (unfortunately)
Grand Concourse 2,690 #8 Posted August 4, 2009 They aren't. As more and more R160's comes in, the R46's on the F will just move back onto the V again.
R32 3348 10 #9 Posted August 4, 2009 Since the beginning of the fleet swap the had 1-2 sets of R46s. Now that more R160s are entering service on the , the is bumping its R46s to the which is why you're seeing them more often.

Bloomberg's campaign announcement makes it seem like the will get all the R160s with CBTC Signalling. The has all the old cars now right? The can be made CBTC for only the express subway cars and the local will be R46? I take it by the time CBTC Will be implemented there will be enough R160's for the express line. express from Forest Hills to Manhattan would be nice with CBTC. MattTrain 3,099 #15 Posted August 5, 2009 I think the R40M/42 trains looked cool, well it's nice to see the as a mixed bag line with those R32 R40M and R42 as well as R46.

Theoretically if they both are then they could add CBTC to the as well perhaps unless there are other issues involved.

Don't expect the QBL express to get CBTC that quickly. At the speed of which the MTA is going, count on 50 years. 25 if you're lucky.

I was imagining at least 100 years until the system is fully CBTC. And no, I'm not exaggerating.
