Y2Julio Posted August 6, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 6, 2009 So I got on the train this morning towards New Lots Avenue to grab the B60 to Canarsie at Rockaway Avenue when I noticed something interesting on the floor. Seems like the flooring was replaced with this black matte flooring, it's not like the normal black floors used. Sorry for the bad picture but I only had my cellphone to take a shot. Urbanfortitude Posted August 6, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 6, 2009 Since when do you take bad pictures >=/ bad Julio! Bad! No Xbox live for you today! Anyway I've seen this before. I was like something about the floor is different but I can't figure it out. Cool though.
LRG Posted August 6, 2009 Share #3 Posted August 6, 2009 Not bad for a cell phone shot. With the flooring it's probably that there are no specks. The regular flooring have those colored specks with the black.
Y2Julio Posted August 6, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted August 6, 2009 It's not even that. It has a matte finish to it. It doesn't have that "shiny" finish to it that the other flooring including the black with white specks has.

It doesn't have that "shiny" finish to it that the other flooring including the black with white specks has. Really? Now that you mention it it does look kinda dullish compared to the other floors. Do you know what car number this is so I can go hunting for it? Also comparing the floors, from what I see here and your picture above, the floor is not as glossy in your picture but the specks are gone. But since the main comparison is that the floors look different (one's glossy, the other isn't) then this would be kinda irrelevant but I just thought I would throw it out there. LandoftheLost Posted August 6, 2009 Share #7 Posted August 6, 2009 do you known what was the car number of R62 that Black-Matted have be installed or put.. Was it R62 #1571 - #1575? and will that mean also that black - matted floor will be installed or put all of R62 #1301 - #1625 and R62A #1651 - #2475 ( and R68A #2500 - #2924?) at least there is change of all of R62A and R68A? Like Y2Julio said, he does not know the car number. If anyone wants to find it they may as well hunt the whole line for it then, it's basically the only way. rmcconnell Posted August 6, 2009 Share #9 Posted August 6, 2009 I remember seeing a car on the with a similar gray-colored flooring material back in 2004, but that was an R62A.
Grand Concourse Posted August 6, 2009 Share #10 Posted August 6, 2009 I think I remember those, I'll have to search my other computer to see if I still have a pic of it.
Grand Concourse Posted August 6, 2009 Share #11 Posted August 6, 2009 Julio, don't be so down on yourself, that's a decent pic from a camera phone. I'd be happy if that's the result if I took a pic using a camera phone.

I don't know the car number nor do I care about numbers. Don't know if they will replace all the flooring on the R62s with this black matte finish. Grand Concourse Posted August 6, 2009 Share #15 Posted August 6, 2009 Heh, cool. DSLR's are great. But I tend to use mainly a P&S camera as it is compact and can take vids. I know the new Nikon DSLR's can take vids now, but I don't own a Nikon, I have a Sony Alpha 100 cam.

MTR Admiralty Posted August 6, 2009 Share #19 Posted August 6, 2009 Not bad for a cell pic. My cell pics don't even compare to this. I have to admit that this flooring is strikingly different from other black floors. It lacks the "shinyness" as how other described it and it lacks the coloured spots. I won't be surprised if the texture is different. Calm down, no one knows all the answers yet. And are you chipper10 on subchat? Nope hes not, Chipper10 was Charleston here. Same thing Subchatters should do with Chipper.

theMojoking Posted August 7, 2009 Share #24 Posted August 7, 2009 It's not even that. It has a matte finish to it. It doesn't have that "shiny" finish to it that the other flooring including the black with white specks has. It's probably to prevent slips and keep the grips.
