Sometime this morning the Coney Island bound (F) was rerouted over the (D) & (E) lines because of emergency track work. Did anyone find out exactly what was wrong?

Re-Routed over the D, as in Manhattan Bridge / 4 Av / West End , and The E to the World Trade Center, Or, Via the Bklyn Bound B/D 6 Av Express Tracks, between 47/50 Sts and West 4th Sts , and / or the E 8 Av Line, from Queens Blvd Express via 53 St to the 8 Av LIne to West 4th St?

Due to emergency track work at the West 4th Street-Washington Square Station, Coney Island-bound New York City Transit F subway trains are running on the E line from the 36th Street Station to the 42nd Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal Station in Manhattan. Those trains will then run on the A train line to the Jay Street-Borough Hall Station.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is also reporting Tuesday morning that some Coney Island-bound F trains will run on the D line from 47th-50th Street-Rockefeller Center Station to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue.

Delays are expected throughout Tuesday on the A, E, D and F lines, MTA officials said.

Meanwhile, the Long Island Rail Road is reporting that the 4:39 a.m. train from Babylon -- scheduled to arrive at Penn Station at 5:55 a.m. -- was cancelled due to equipment trouble on Tuesday. Officials said customers were instead asked to use the 5:12 a.m. train from Babylon and the 5:18 a.m. train from Wantagh. It is unclear what the caused the problem with the cancelled train.
