R44 5278 Posted August 9, 2009 Share #5 Posted August 9, 2009 Here comes the 2nd generation Japanese trains to the MNRR! I guessing they'll last 25-30 years since that's how much each Shinkansen Series lasted. Anyhow, they'll go beyond expectations in the first few years! Rutgers Tube Posted August 9, 2009 Share #6 Posted August 9, 2009 According to CDOT, MNRR, and the CT Commuter Rail Council, the M8's are still scheduled to enter the testing phase shortly and enter service at the rate of ten cars per month, starting in the fourth quarter of 2009, which is now less than two months away. I don't envision seeing those trains run in regular service before the spring of 2010. Looks like another winter of cold cars and frozen doors...
