On serious note, Les Paul actually passed away today on August 13. He was in his 90's. Wow. Another celebrity(though not a household name)is gone.

Thats the first ever RUSH song I heard as a kid and thats when I knew RUSH was a really good band. I used to watch this old UHF video station called U68 and the Tom Sawyer video came on! They used to play alot of rock and metal videos! Thats also how I discovered Iron Maiden when they played the 2 Minutes to Midnight video later that night! Thats also how I discovered Iron Maiden when they played the 2 Minutes to Midnight video later that night! I remember that UHF 'video' station based from Newark, NJ. They played videos in the ealy '80's, designed for people living in NYC/North NJ who did not or could not get access to MTV. I think they went 'off the air' by 1987-88. I think "U68" is also best known for world debuting an then unknown singer named Whitney Houston debut single 'saving all my love for you' and becoming her first number #1 song. Its now a Home Shopping Channel and local NY affliate for HSN. Man i miss the '80's, from "U68', "New York Hot Tracks' and of course "U68." KTrainExp Posted August 15, 2009 Share #37 Posted August 15, 2009 Masta Ace. I think that he's one of the few good rappers out there that talk about real politics instead of that braincell killer Lil' Wayne and T.I. Best stuff that's out there include: -Slaughtahouse by Masta Ace -Can't Stop the Bumrush by Masta Ace -Road to the Riches by Kool G Rap and some other guy -Juicy by Biggie Smalls ______ -Yeah by Usher is also cool, but nothing serious. -Shawty Like Mine by Chris Brown and Bow Wow is also cool. ______ -Absolutely hate that EMO stuff that's out. I think it's ridiculous that people even listening to that stuff. Best album goes to Masta Ace's Take A Look Around.

Sorry to disagree but Masta Ace is ok but many old school rappers were better talking politics/social issues without the excessive cursing. Heard of Grandmaster Flash and Public Enemy? I did not agree with their comments/views on politics and social issues but as a music lover the lyrics were brilliant.

Micheal Jackson Shallamar/Jody Whatley and Brothers Johnson is not "Soft rock' lol. That the defination by radio and music programmers in recent years. They really R&B(in NYC Kiss-FM) Oldies(CBS-FM)or Dance)'KTU-FM) in NYC. Kayne West a Hip Hop star? I always thought of him as a hybird R&B/Rap myself ie think Black Eyed Peas/Fergie and from while ago Salt and Pepper TLC etc. Some of the choices kid are excellent. Some other i have never heard of in my life lol.
