EE Broadway Local 17 #3 Posted August 16, 2009 Well, there is a bit of sunshine. The MertoLink Main Street BRT project is progressing. Twenty-Six stations between Sycamore Transit Center and the soon to be (new) Superstition Springs Center Transit Center. That sounds like a BRT station about every mile (one for each side of Main Street). Stations will feature special lighting and message signs displaying next bus arrival. Completion of both projects is October. The new Valley Metro Transit Guide and Destinations Guide are available. The Transit Guide contains the very first-ever Metro train schedule and information on new Friday and Saturday service until 2:00am. Also the straightening of Route 44 to begin/end at University Drive. Metro trains are averaging 33,553 riders Weekdays; 27,176 Saturdays and 20,219 Sundays.
