Trainspotter Posted November 23, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 23, 2007 Low marks for Rockaway Park shuttle and C line Angered by long waits and muddled announcements, straphangers gave the C line and the Rockaway Park Shuttle a D plus, the overall lowest grade so far on the rider –report cards. The A train was also rated this week, and came in with a weak C-minus. New York City Transit has tabulated grades for 14 lines since July and most have fallen in the C range. R1Toasty Posted November 23, 2007 Share #2 Posted November 23, 2007 Makes sense. The Rockaway shuttle is the shortest train, and a very far away one at that. The C line deserves better... maybe we're just being spoiled with all these new tech cars?
Brighton Local Posted November 23, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 23, 2007 The C deserves what it gets. How many weekends did the A provide Local service along the entire CPW / 8 Av / Fulton Corrider? The C was suspended for months; don't get me wrong, the TA needs to improve the system; however such a suspension for a period of time thats enormous; the riders are definitely going to throw back their 2 cents in the TA'S face.. Queens Surface Posted November 24, 2007 Share #5 Posted November 24, 2007 Once I was on a R32 C and it smelled like garbage and hobo's
Far Rock Depot Posted November 24, 2007 Share #6 Posted November 24, 2007 C train deserves it. Like it was stated, when was the last time any of us rode the C on the weekend? As for the Rock park shuttle, what improvement is really needed? Its every 20 mins. and serves some of the least used stations including B105st-Seaside which was on the news as the number one least used stop in the whole system. The Rock Park shuttle only really needs to be on point during the Summer months. It even uses full length trains for the beach crowd
sebbieprops Posted November 25, 2007 Share #7 Posted November 25, 2007 I have to agree with the low ranking of the line. It's very slow, and many of its stations are filthy, dark and decrepit. I'd have to give it a grade of C-, at the best. I've never been on the Rockaway Park Shuttle, so I really can't say.
Pablo M 201 Posted November 25, 2007 Share #8 Posted November 25, 2007 Why am I not surprised it took the to finally get a D grade on the rider report card? And that low grade for the I'm not surprised about neither. Service could be so much better. And also the numerous G.O.s the last year or 2.
