dmouse 522 #1 Posted August 19, 2009 Honestly... Does anyone know when Queens Village is getting Orion VII NGs, or any other new bus?
7LineFan 254 #2 Posted August 19, 2009 I don't think Queens Village is getting Next Gens. To be honest, Queens Village doesn't really need new buses at the moment. Yeah... They have some fairly recent Novas, and part of the first batch of OG's. They'll probably get new buses when those 9000 series Novas retire, but that's not gonna be for a while. dmouse 522 #3 Posted August 19, 2009 Well that is true.... QVs oldest buses are the TMCs and they're in fine condition.
Shortline Bus 1,121 #4 Posted August 19, 2009 Well that is true.... QVs oldest buses are the TMCs and they're in fine condition. Hey when is Southwest Brooklyn's Ulmer Park getting new buses? Other than the MCI express buses almost alll of the Ulmer fleet has buses that include TMC's and Nova made between 1992-1999. They should get the next fleet of new buses for their local fleet. Even Baisley Park Far Rockaway and LGA as a whole now has newer buses than Ulmer.

LandoftheLost 0 #6 Posted August 19, 2009 Queens Village Depot have 65 Orion7CNG #6425 - #6489.
7LineFan 254 #7 Posted August 19, 2009 Queens Village Depot have 65 Orion7CNG #6425 - #6489. They're not CNG. Well that is true.... QVs oldest buses are the TMCs and they're in fine condition. The wants to get rid of those 1991 TMC's system-wide, but there are only 8 of them at QV. I'm talking when the 95-97 Novas get replaced, because there are 90 there. 7LineFan 254 #9 Posted August 19, 2009 So basically QV is getting nothing new untill its time to retire the novas right? It shouldn't; however, take that with a grain of salt. This is the we're dealing with, and things can change very rapidly.
R32 3348 10 #10 Posted August 21, 2009 The only new thing I can imagine happening in terms of QV getting new buses, is if LGA gets more NG's - enough to displace ~10 9300s (while retiring the TMC's minus the 8400s) and send them over to QV.
dmouse 522 #11 Posted August 21, 2009 QV won't see anymore TMCs for sure. They're leaving QV very slowly as some of the current 90's have went back to Bus and other depots.
LandoftheLost 0 #12 Posted August 21, 2009 If you want QueensVillage depot to recieve new buses. i believe is to decision if Design Line Oylmbus should be sent to Queensvillage depot. or wait next year 2010 when there going to be replacement of 1996 - 1997 RTS Nova Bus
ragazzapazza1024 0 #13 Posted August 21, 2009 Queens Village has nice buses. And I don't like the ones that some depots got, the ones where everytime the bell rings it says, "Please exit through the rear door" in the loud annoying voice. Those are pretty cool buses, and I love how cold it gets on them.

I'm pleased with what's at QV. Now if only we could Orion 5's again
