trainfan22 Posted November 27, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 27, 2007 How long does it take the mta to install the R160 boards at j line stations because there is a lot of R160 in eny yard but they can only go in service on the Z and L lines
R32 3348 Posted November 27, 2007 Share #2 Posted November 27, 2007 I'm not entirely clear on the matter. I know the J can't get the R160 yet because of something, but what is it again? (Thus I don't know what you mean by R160 boards. Do you mean the ones that say where the conductor stops? I saw one at Broadway Junction the other day.) Phil D. Posted November 27, 2007 Share #6 Posted November 27, 2007 All of the J line stations have R160s C/R boards on the entire line. There are 2-3 R160As running on the J and like 4-5 On the Z during rush hours. And before I get attacked and say that I'm a liar that the J is running R160s..They've been running for a while now. Heres a picture I took thats a real popular one and everyone loves as my proof:
R32 3348 Posted November 28, 2007 Share #7 Posted November 28, 2007 Are the R160 on the J and Z running full time, or part-time at first, like they first did on the N?
Phil D. Posted November 28, 2007 Share #8 Posted November 28, 2007 Like I said in my post. They only run RUSH HOURS. All other times they do not run.
R32 3348 Posted November 28, 2007 Share #9 Posted November 28, 2007 Oh, I thought you only meant that for the Z. Thanks!
Pelham Bay Dave Posted November 28, 2007 Share #10 Posted November 28, 2007 The R 160's are only on the Z Line right now but every once in a while like the picture above they do come back to Parsons as a J Line if something goes out of place at Broad St.

But yeah, they do run the J almost everytime because something always happens or they want to turn the Zs back into Js and run them back to Parsons Archer. North-Eastern T/O Posted December 7, 2007 Share #13 Posted December 7, 2007 It does not have to do with the C/R braods, it has to do with the station that need CCTV for the C/R. The Supt. is not pushing hard enought to get then installed. So for now the R160a1's are only used during the Rush Hours. Robert
