Shortline Bus Posted August 25, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 25, 2009 Have you busfanned the M18, M35, M60, B39 or B51 bus routes? Are they good/interesting routes? EE Local being EE local again. Any reason for putting these routes together? They have nothing in common.
Luis1985 Posted August 25, 2009 Share #3 Posted August 25, 2009 i did B51 and M60. B51 from Downtown Brooklyn to Lower Manhattan (BOTH WAYS), its a nice view crossing the bridge. M60 goes all over LGA Airport and its a nice view of planes.
R32 3348 Posted August 25, 2009 Share #4 Posted August 25, 2009 I've busfanned the M35 and M60. Though I haven't really done the M35 for busfanning purposes; I'm on track and I've had to use the bus to get to practices and meets at ICAHN stadium. The bus does get very crowded, but I've only rode it as far as to ICAHN. Bus is either an artic or an RTS. There's some crazy people on that bus since the bus goes to a mental ward at the end of the line.
mark1447 Posted August 25, 2009 Share #5 Posted August 25, 2009 Ive done the M18 and M60 of course. M18 you would need to wait like 30min on a weekday or so to catch it. B39 once and B51 never
trainfan22 Posted August 25, 2009 Share #6 Posted August 25, 2009 I fanned the M35 & M60. I really like the M60 but they need to put artics on this route, those VIIs don't cut it!
Ken S. Posted August 25, 2009 Share #7 Posted August 25, 2009 I've done the last three. But, only a piece of the M60 (from where it turns onto 125 to the ).
B35 via Church Posted August 25, 2009 Share #8 Posted August 25, 2009 Have you busfanned the M18, M35, M60, B39 or B51 bus routes? Are they good/interesting routes? Ever... Yes. Recently, no. Only route out of that group I find interesting is the M60.
S78 via Hylan Posted August 25, 2009 Share #9 Posted August 25, 2009 B39 and B51. Love em both.
FamousNYLover Posted August 25, 2009 Share #10 Posted August 25, 2009 M60- I did not took westbound route full route yet, but I did took M60 eastbound. Especially, night it is so beautiful as bus cut across RFK Bridge, sometimes lucky to catch M60 at time Amtrak cross Steinway St, and Hell's Gate Bridge. I love the both regular and NG Hybrid. M35- RTS and Artic. At last stop, Artic goes different way then RTSbus. I stay through the loop. Noisy. B39: Sometimes this bus is so helped when does not run over bridge and Bus is always congested, B39 could be other alternative if you're only going to/from Marcy Av. B51: I love this bus. One time, I lost track of day, and I realiaze it was weekend when I got off M15 City Hall, so I had to take M103 to Kenmare an d walk to Allen St for B39 to B61 for Transit Museum. B51 is best alternative for Transit Museum from City Hall.

Forest Glen Posted August 26, 2009 Share #13 Posted August 26, 2009 The Brooklyn Bridge walkway is separated from the car traffic.
EE Broadway Local Posted August 28, 2009 Author Share #14 Posted August 28, 2009 Hi! I picked these routes because the B51 runs the Manny B., the B39 runs the Willy B. and the M35 runs the Triborough Bridge from Manhattan. The M18 runs Convent Avenue and serves CCNY. You may have to be patient with me - 70(EE) is a bus novice. Usually, in New York City I get by on the subway and walking. (NYCT)
Forest Glen Posted August 28, 2009 Share #15 Posted August 28, 2009 Hardly any CCNY students use the M18. There's a campus shuttle bus that goes to the 145 street subway station
engineerboy6561 Posted August 28, 2009 Share #16 Posted August 28, 2009 I've fanned the B39 and B51 in both directions, and the M60 eastbound from 116 St/Bway to the Q101.
KTrainExp Posted August 28, 2009 Share #17 Posted August 28, 2009 M18 there's really nothing good to see from it. Unless you want to head up or down to the usual New York neighborhoods, then take it. I think it brings you pretty damn close to Yankee stadium which is good. The bus is limited, VERY LIMITED as there's only 2 or 3 of them every hour. But whenever I see it, it's packed, so there's something probably got wrong.

Ken S. Posted August 29, 2009 Share #19 Posted August 29, 2009 You could've taken the to Fulton and then the to Borough Hall. If he's referring to the Shuttles that operate through the Montague Street Tunnel ala the Rush Hour service, they stop at Borough Hall anyway. Get off at Court Street and follow the signs from there.
