Pelham Bay Dave Posted September 8, 2009 Share #26 Posted September 8, 2009 I always liked the R32 and working the this pick was the way to go. Some of those trains are challeging you get a few with long or (bad) brakes.

AJ023 Posted September 8, 2009 Author Share #28 Posted September 8, 2009 Once we get back to R46 or better on the , then Jamaica will be in good shape. RIP R32 + R42 on these lines. Looks like R32's will come off very soon, and R42s will follow shortly thereafter.

Robert Paniagua Posted September 9, 2009 Share #30 Posted September 9, 2009 Since I am a Regular T/O on the I can confirm they telling us to expect 10 Car R32's anywhere from next week to a month and R 46's will be on the line shortly as well. I rode on some R32 Line trains on Sunday, and I got 3888, 3489, and 3405 and I took some pics and movie clips, which I had fun doing. I was glad to get on my chance before next fall

Grand Concourse Posted September 11, 2009 Share #33 Posted September 11, 2009 Apparently, the will have 16 R46s, 20 R32 Brightliners and 110 R42s and the will have 232 R46s. The will have 90 R160As and 40 R160B1s. That's not really surprising since the V is mostly the older 60' SMEE's anyway.
R32 3348 Posted September 12, 2009 Share #34 Posted September 12, 2009 Apparently, the will have 16 R46s, 20 R32 Brightliners and 110 R42s and the will have 232 R46s. The will have 90 R160As and 40 R160B1s. This info is a bit outdated. The runs more than 2 sets of R46s - this is up to 5-7. The number of R42s is also down. AJ023 Posted September 12, 2009 Author Share #36 Posted September 12, 2009 The lines of will all be R46 or better very soon. Yes is getting more R46 and should eventually be all R46. Eventually and before you know it will be all R160 and you will see R160 on the other lines. The only thing that matters here to me is the elimination of the R32 + R42. R160s are just a part of the natural evolution of the system, but the move from R46 to older cars from other lines was thankfully temporary. After R160s come on, that shouldn't happen again since the oldest cars will be R46 and a migration to R160.
