lilbluefoxie Posted September 11, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 11, 2009 Do they still use the yellow painted work cars? I havent seen them in a while, the past few videos of the work trains have been regular red painted cars.

LRG Posted September 12, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 12, 2009 I see them all over the place. They're in the yards until they're ready to do their thing. As for seeing one pass by you, well, gotta be in the right place at the right time!
SevenEleven Posted September 12, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 12, 2009 Of course they do. If they're not in the yard resting, they are leading garbage trains or work trains.
INDman Posted September 13, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 13, 2009 Of course they do. If they're not in the yard resting, they are leading garbage trains or work trains. Not yellow birds. The cars that are completely yellow are rider cars or spacer cars. They do not run on their own and have MCB couplers, not H2C like most subway cars have. They are placed after work diesels or between them. They are used as crew cars for some projects.
Fresh Pond Posted September 16, 2009 Share #6 Posted September 16, 2009 From where I live at (between Gates & Halsey Sts on the BMT line) I see them go by at nights on the unused middle track. I've even saw the VakTrak many times.
