error46146 1,007 Posted December 2, 2007 Share #1 Posted December 2, 2007 I got lucky today, and caught the R9 V train! The train smelled weird inside lol. For those who were curious, I got the 2:30 Uptown from 2nd Avenue, and I was in the first car, R9 #1802. I took it all the way to Queens Plaza, its last stop, then got on the R32 E train that came in immediately after. Pablo M 201 35 Posted December 3, 2007 Share #6 Posted December 3, 2007 whatever t/o are quafiled to drive them i think there only two t/o in the mta that are quafiled to operate them. Theres more, but its just a matter of who wants to do the job. But I think one of them definately is a regular to operate the arnines and then any other T/O who is qualified. Cyberider 66 Posted December 4, 2007 Share #7 Posted December 4, 2007 Great stuff, error. Especially enjoyed the video on the R9. Blinking lights are normal at all third rail gaps. Don't you just love the sound of the motors and gears when the train starts up!

Phil D. 0 Posted December 6, 2007 Share #9 Posted December 6, 2007 Wow error I can't believe you don't know when the trains use to gap back then the lights use to go out. It doesn't happen today because when the train gaps, it switches over to the Battery to run the lights for that split second.
