LRG Posted September 17, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 17, 2009 Nice pics! You know, it's idiots like those who are making the railfans look bad, subway surfing and crap. That's why that kid in 2003 died when he hit his head on a steel beam. I wouldn't be surprised if this kid went flying off after hitting a sharp curve. WTH?!

lilbluefoxie Posted September 17, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 17, 2009 Its funny how you got the R32 V after the R42 V, but at a different station than I, (I was at 47-50 Sts, I wonder if we photographed the same trains but at different stations)

Paul P Posted September 17, 2009 Share #8 Posted September 17, 2009 Great pics! But, if he "train surfs" then he should rethink about doing it on the R46!
RTOMan Posted September 17, 2009 Share #9 Posted September 17, 2009 Did you go upstairs and alert the Station Agent in the booth with a car number to what this moron was doing? They do have Radios you know...

Rapid Transit TO Posted September 17, 2009 Share #11 Posted September 17, 2009 If this guy ever suffers a fatality and the family tries to sue, I'll LMAO when presents enhanced security video from other stations showing how he contributed to his own demise, then counter-sues for incurred expenses! I'm sure 'he's on the honor roll and WOULD never do something like that' as well..
mark1447 Posted September 17, 2009 Share #12 Posted September 17, 2009 wtf?? you cant do that, Even tho he did it. People are so stupid these days. Imagin the train speed increasing.. Then your in big trouble... I image he got caught.. or not? I slowed the video down and I get car #5xxx for the last 4 cars.. Maybe determining the first 4 cars would tell you what it shares for the last 4 cars? If i were you i wouldnt just keep it like that, but report it.. At least you can have the time of incident/date or so.. btw great pics!
SubaruWRX Posted September 17, 2009 Share #13 Posted September 17, 2009 It can also work against the OP because it makes it look like he was in on it to film the guy riding on the rear of the train for "proof" Which is why I would of reported it. EE Broadway Local Posted September 17, 2009 Share #14 Posted September 17, 2009 The subway surfer riding the back of that R46 train made the stop at Elmhurst Avenue. If my perpective is correct, he arrived from Grand Avenue-Newtown and he was enroute to the express station at Roosevelt Avenue-Jackson Avenue. (Looks like the train was Manhattan bound). The person that caught this focused on the tunnel a little as the train faded into darkness.

UlmerPark B6 Posted September 17, 2009 Share #16 Posted September 17, 2009 Nice pics, that dude is so stupid, he could have suffered a major fatality. You should have told a employee. As for the R32 (, I see it every morning around 7:30 to 7:40 bet. Avenue U and Avenue M going northbound.
Messino Posted September 17, 2009 Share #17 Posted September 17, 2009 Thats not surfing, surfing is when people ride on top of the train. I know when I was a kid morons who used to do this all the time on the A train from 80Th street until the train goes into the tunnel, and its pretty stupid either way. SubwayGuy Posted September 17, 2009 Share #18 Posted September 17, 2009 I remember as a kid seeing someone do it on the side of a train and "hop off" while the train was moving before it went in the tunnel... I musta been 6 or 7... what an idiot...lucky he didn't wind up smeared all over the end of the station wall

Riding outside the subway car is considered "subway surfing" and you don't have to just be on top of the train car to surf. Nice photos by the way
SevenEleven Posted September 17, 2009 Share #21 Posted September 17, 2009 Nice pics. It would have been tragic if that kid fell off and suffered a fatality. I wonder if the T/O of that R160 saw it and reported it. I hope that next time he does it, he gets caught for his action.
DarrylR.14 Posted September 17, 2009 Share #22 Posted September 17, 2009 Nice Pics. You were at my past home station? Dang, Elmhurst Ave. is busy...unless if most were students from...idk... Grand Concourse Posted September 18, 2009 Share #25 Posted September 18, 2009 Nice pics, that dude is so stupid, he could have suffered a major fatality. You should have told a employee. As for the R32 (, I see it every morning around 7:30 to 7:40 bet. Avenue U and Avenue M going northbound. Unless that idiot kid stayed on for a few more stops, chances are-by the time an MTA employee is notified, the kid would be long gone by then.
