metsfan Posted September 24, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 24, 2009 Maglev. Also, um, acela isnt even as fast as a lot of "regular" inter-city trains. 150 mph top speed, for a fraction of its total route length, yea uh the AGV will have a top speed of 223 mph in regular service, and the 10 year old ICE-3 trains in germany do 186 mph. - A

Grand Concourse Posted September 27, 2009 Share #13 Posted September 27, 2009 Seems like we got an Acela Beater lol. Thats faster then acela.. But is this real tho? Cuz I never seen something this fast! Gd video! Our trains have nothing against the rest of the world. France's TGV can go up to 357 mph or 574.8 km/h. Now that's the fastest thing on wheels and on rail. What really holds back Acela is that it has to tilt at the curves than to just run strait from point to point. They could go much faster if there weren't so many curves on the East Corridor.
