Service Alert

Posted on:9/25/2009 11:49:07 AM

Due to debris on the track at the 157th Street Station, there is no (1) train service in both directions between the 137th Street Station-City College Station and the 168th Street Station.

As an alternative, customers are advised to take the nearby (:P or (C) train or the M5 bus along Broadway.

Please expect delays on the (1) train at this time.

I'm surprised then that the (6) hasn't run into such discrepancies yet.

could u imagine the chaos it would be on the east side having the lexington line be handicapped like that? unlike the east side the west has many alternative subway routes...on the east side everybody would be forced to rely solely on buses and cabs.

Does anyone remember the incident about bulding collapsed that halted (1) service? I never seen it but what stations were affected?

That was apparently a rumor as to what caused this last ceiling collapse. Nothing was ever mentioned about it on the news, which would have been if that is what happened.
