S78 via Hylan Posted September 29, 2009 Share #26 Posted September 29, 2009 One time during a G.O. when trains were terminating at Essex St, I rode it from Jamaica all the way to Essex. I don't know if that counts. The closest I have was the from 34 St to Coney Island.

Grand Concourse Posted September 29, 2009 Share #33 Posted September 29, 2009 Interesting topic, I'm really trying to think hard about this and I honestly can't say if I have rode many lines end to end. The , , , and the are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. The I rode, but it was a MoD trip and it ran express, so it probably doesn't count as a true 1 line. Then there was the , but only to QBP on the Vintage train. And the '(K)' when the R9's were running from 168th to WTC via express back in 2004 for the Centennial year. The others have been split into parts or I took the express to skip the local stops and then got back on the local to continue to the end. Oh and finally, I did ride the entire Path system when they had their 100th? year celebration and the system was totally free for the entire day. Trainmaster5 Posted September 30, 2009 Share #40 Posted September 30, 2009 I've ridden every line from end to end, from the 1960's 'til today. Of course I had a bus and subway pass in the beginning so it was pretty easy. Today, being a M/M, it's not as much fun but still interesting. Some lines were boring ,like the or double or to Flatbush, while the(Q), and to the Rockaways were some of my favorites.

SIR North Shore Posted October 1, 2009 Share #46 Posted October 1, 2009 I don't know how anyone could sit on the for the entire route, it's bad just riding it for a few stops. The only routes I've ridden in full, (not railfanning purposes either) is: Jamaica Center - Broad St Bowling Green - Dyre Ave

The only routes I've ridden in full, (not railfanning purposes either) is: Jamaica Center - Broad St Bowling Green - Dyre Ave The is not as bad as everyone makes it seem. It does it's job serving as the local. Rarely has the train ever had any major delays that hit other lines so often.

I managed to do it but I can't tell you how many times i wanted to jump off and get an express train.
Y2Julio Posted October 1, 2009 Share #49 Posted October 1, 2009 It's just as fast as any other local. Takes about 2 minutes to get from station to station just like any other local.
Urbanfortitude Posted October 1, 2009 Share #50 Posted October 1, 2009 It's just as fast as any other local. Takes about 2 minutes to get from station to station just like any other local. then maybe its the ride's length...because if i recall, the local we took a while back had me wishing the train would up and switch to express track.
