EE Broadway Local Posted September 30, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 30, 2009 I really like Zebra Pens and Pencils. They're durable and write nice. It must've been, oh, almost twenty-five years ago when I tried my first Zebra. This was their Jimnie, a plastic retractable medium pen with a soft grip in the ink color and black ink. I liked it and the way it wrote. At a small store that sold stationary in Brighton Beach, Cameo Stationary, I found Jimnies in blue, green, red, pink and purple. I liked each one. Then around 1994, I was at an F.W. Woolworth's on Westchester Avenue, I saw a Zebra Pen that looked like it was made of metal. Curious, I purchased it and ever since, I've been a fan of the Zebra F-301 retractable Pen and M-301 mechanical Pencil. I like all four colors offered - black, blue, green and red though it is hard to find the green and red ink refills. I like the checker grip on these as well as the pocket clip. Being made of steel, they're even more durable than the Jimnie. Before Zebra, my original favorites were the Bic stick cap pen with the clear barrel and the Dixon Ticonderoga pencil.
