Staten Island Officials want MTA to take over X23 and X24

Recommended Posts

At Subchat (yes I still lurk there) there was a thread about people on Staten Island who want the MTA to take over the X23 and X24, express routes that are currently operated by Atlantic Express. Atlantic Express currently receives $12 million dollars annually to operate the two routes. Staten Island officials would rather use that money on other transportation projects in the forgotten borough. The Charleston Annex, Staten Island's third depot, is being built and it will enable more buses to serve Staten Island.

Not only that, but to lessen the load on the two current depots, Yukon & Castleton, as they are overloaded with buses.
