Following an earlier incident (4),(7), (A) , (:P, (C), (D), (F) and (G) train service has resumed with residual delays.

I still need a reason why the (4) was removed from service, because it doesn't make sense..

Following an earlier incident, (7) train service has resumed with residual delays.

Due to a smoke condition at 53rd Street between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenues:

There is no (4) and (5) train service in both directions between the 149th Street-Grand Concourse Station and the Fulton Street Station.

(6) trains are running with delays in both directions.

Please expect delays on the (4) , (5) and (6) trains.

-----

So now the (5) as well. Good thing my school has a day off today.

I was getting ready to hop into the (5) to the Bronx to run an errand when I remembered the East Side IRT was snarled. I took the (2). Heading downtown, I took the (5), and it was still acting up somewhat.

I got caught in this mess heading back home from Brooklyn.

Combined with the (4) Jerome Exp G.O., a trip that normally takes less than an hour took two hours!

I thought to myself that I should've taken the (F) at Jay and transferred to the (D), but I saw that the (D) had problems of its own!

No win! :P

Got on a (6) train at 96th St. today at around 5:30PM. When we reached 59th St. the train was held in the station due to signal problems at Union Sq. Just this morning I was waiting for the train at 59th St. around 7 AM, and there were signal problems down the line. A local (5) train took me to school.

This is not a good day for the Lexington Ave. line!

You can say that again. The West Side had it's bit of trouble in August. It's the beginning of the month, and already issues are arising? Man, on man....

yea cuz this is what i heard:

Brooklyn-bound (:P(D)'s were running on the (A)(C) lines from 59 St to West 4 St, then on the (F) line to Stillwell Ave, suspending (V) service.

Coney Island-bound (N) trains run on the (D) line from 36 St to Coney Island (to replace (D) service, when they could've easily extended either the (M)(W)).

and what i saw was:

Brooklyn-bound (F) train running on the (E) line from Roosevelt Av, Queens and West 4 St. (it pulled in at 34 St-Penn Station via 8 Ave.)

Brooklyn-bound (D) train running on the (C) line from 59 St to West 4 St (it pulled in at 34 St-Penn Station via 8 Ave.)

The MTA doesn't think...you're absolutely right that they could've extended the (M) or the (W), but more cars would be needed, so it would be an epic fail.

What a mess....I wanted to get out to Forest Hills when I saw these threads. I was planning to use the (4)/(6) to connect with the (E)/(F). Then Julio suggested using the (R). Glad I took the advice...I had no issues going that route.
