Queens-based JetBlue considering New York and Orlando for corporate headquarters

It's either us or them in the battle for JetBlue.

 

Queens' "hometown" airline has narrowed its search for a new corporate headquarters down to New York City and Orlando, airline officials said.

 

At stake are more than 850 jobs at the discount airline's corporate base in Forest Hills and another 74 jobs at its financial service center in Darien, Conn.

 

But a decision won't be announced until early 2010, said JetBlue spokesman Bryan Baldwin. And the company doesn't plan on taking off until its Forest Hills lease expires in 2012.
