Due to signal and mechanical problems at the 1st Avenue Station:

 

There is no train service between the Bedford Avenue Station and the 8th Avenue Station in both directions at this time.

Signal have issues all the time but at least you can Key by them then again when CBTC acts up you can put the train in Bypass so who knows what really happen. Then been having CBTC issues the past few weeks.

The point is the CBTC is very new and has been having alot of issues.

I found out on Friday that 95% of the problem with CBTC is the train computers not the wayside equipment. So signal problem this time might have been a broke rail, or something along this line.

Interesting to know, I would have thought that wayside equipment would be more prone to failure since it is out side in the elements. Now, the problems with the train borne computers, is that die to vibration or steel dust?

I guess thats a good think if it was a CBTC failure or malfunction instead of all trains speeding out of control.

I was at Union Square waiting on the platform at around 4:35 and the delays were still apparent. Rockaway Parkway bound trains were coming in packed from 6th and 8th Avenues because of the delays.

 

I took a quick shot of a train that most of us didn't fit in. B)

I luckily didn't have any problems with the when I left work at 5pm.
