Bus Route No. 62 - Important Service Information Beginning October 17, 2009

Issued: October 01, 2009

On Saturday, October 17, 2009, (NJT) will introduce a new bus route between Bloomfield Station, Downtown Newark (via Broad Street) and Newark Liberty International Airport. The new service, called Go Bus 28, will operate as frequently as every 10 minutes during weekday peak hours, and will result in an overall increase in transit service to/from the airport.

With the launch of Go Bus 28, the schedule of Bus Route No. 62 will be reduced.

  1. Many customers traveling to Newark Airport who currently use No. 62 buses along Broad Street will have the option of using the new Go Bus 28 service instead. Look for Go Bus 28 timetables and service brochures for additional information.
  2. Bus Route No. 62 will operate less frequently. During peak periods, No. 62 buses will operate approximately every 15 to 20 minutes, as opposed to every 5-10 minutes today. Please check new schedules carefully.

Frequent Travelers

If you travel frequently between Newark Penn Station and the airport, you may wish to consider purchasing a $60 monthly rail pass.

  1. Unlimited train travel between Newark Penn and the Airport
  2. May be used on Bus Route No. 62 at no additional charge
  3. May be used on Go Bus 28 at no additional charge
  4. May be used on Newark Light Rail at no additional charge

If you have any questions about this service adjustment, please contact NJ TRANSIT Customer Service at (973) 275-5555.
