R46 SMS overhaul

I read on wikipedia for the R46 that it is currently undergoing a light overhaul which include black floors,blue interior seats and new suspension system.Can anyone confirm that as well as providing pics.Thanks

I've heard it was the R44s getting the overhaul. I know the SIRT ones had black floors and blue seats already, when I was down there last summer.

not new suspension system, but just replacment springs.

i think the overhaul includes new ac systems and the anti scratchfitti screens on the windows

It's a stupid idea and makes a car with an attractive interior look tacky. The "rationale" is they save money by buying one paint color rather than 3 or 4. The thing is, it is the cars with blue seats that don't need the paint, the R142 and newer. But the cars with beige seats that have some seats that need to be repainted, the R44-R68, are repainted blue on a few seat pairs in a train that has no blue used in its color scheme. The blue sticks out like a sore thumb and looks cheap and tacky in the pre NTT cars.

The next time im in town im going to have a talk with the prez about that one. It would be nice to tear down the wall paper and paint the wall white.Oh and add air springs to the trucks.

Ok good point well use the same type of wallpaper except make it white,Something just so that It doesn`t look tacky I can imagine what goes on in the heads of the shop crew when they thought of that
