Grand Concourse Posted October 15, 2009 Share #3 Posted October 15, 2009 I hope it was just testing or the D was short a train for some reason. I don't think there's a point for the D to have an R160 as it is fine with an all R68 fleet.

Sea Beach Posted October 16, 2009 Share #7 Posted October 16, 2009 Interesting, thanks. No prob! It is very intresting! What may be happening is that CI might want all its to be R160,but the R160 that was on the today was 98**,which is a Jamaica set,the R160 that was seen on the on the weekend was 89**,which is a CI set,so this means theres 2 R160 sets on the ,and whats making it even more intresting is that one is a Jamaica set!. So im assuming Jamaica gave up one of its sets to CI for the ?
Grand Concourse Posted October 16, 2009 Share #8 Posted October 16, 2009 That wouldn't suprise me as it would minimize the 'strain' across the board by borrowing from two yards than just one. The 2/5 borrowed R142/A's from the 4/6 when the R142's had to go to the shops a few years ago. And the 4 in turn borrowed some R62A's from the 1 and the 7 lines. FamousNYLover Posted October 16, 2009 Share #9 Posted October 16, 2009 I love the pic. On the service alert, there was police activy at Sheepshead Bay. And I think was rerouted on Sea Beach line?

Grand Concourse Posted October 16, 2009 Share #11 Posted October 16, 2009 Well if the R68's are getting 'tune ups', I think these are temporary loans and will be returned back. Maybe it means no older SMEE's being retired yet? From which yard it comes from that doesn't matter, as I mentioned about the R142's.
Eric B Posted October 16, 2009 Share #12 Posted October 16, 2009 If there was a Jamaica set, could it have been a rerouted ? (Just like the CI set may have been a rerouted ).

Grand Concourse Posted October 17, 2009 Share #14 Posted October 17, 2009 Oh, I don't mind seeing R160's on the D, but just as long as it isn't based from Concourse yard, but rather Coney Island.
