CPBO 146 Posted October 19, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 19, 2009 I think it would be a great idea if Mike Bloomberg backed the MTA in his third term Mike campaign to have a couple of trollys built in Manhattan. After all he is still pissed about his congestion price failure.....building these stupid flower pots in the middle of busy streets.....and he has made Times Square a pedestrian mall. So lets get some more cars off the streets of Manhattan and put up some Trollys.....I say have one on the West Side and one on the East Side.....say have one go up 10th ave leaving from the village on Greenwich street all the way to Harlem....and have the other one start at 135th steet and go down First ave to Houston street. This would be backed with Federal funds as it would help elimate cars in Manhattan.....thus eliminating green house gases being emitted in the atmosphere.....More Important it would put New Yorkers back to work. metsfan 2 Posted October 19, 2009 Share #7 Posted October 19, 2009 Light rail would be ok too, but just imagine a rebuilt PCC car, modernized & updated trolly cars, you could have all different types with seated capacity the only variation. Push the stop select strip to get off whenever.:tup::tup::tup: - A

INDman 414 Posted October 20, 2009 Share #17 Posted October 20, 2009 A trolley/lightrail would be perfect for 34 street. Not really a fan of light rail, but I would love to see trolley cars back in Times Square running of a 3rd rail. Over head wires for out of Manhattan would be fine, just like the good old days.
