<4> Diamond to return?

Its one thing if the line actually went to the Racino itself. It's another story when one still has to go downstairs at Woodlawn and catch a bus that's not even owned by MTA to get up there. I seriously tried not to LOL at this one, but I failed.

All "specials" have a specific smallish dedicated time frame in mind, such as the end of a baseball game or a large gathering (like a parade ending, or New Years). An all-day, every day thing like weekend gambling, going to Luna Park on CI or going to the beach during the summer can't have "specials". Even the beginning of such events can't have specials as there is no designated time for everyone that wishes to participate to meet, everyone shows up pretty much at their leisure for these events.

The following local stations all have high ridership and require frequent service, which is not possible running every other train "express" just to use unused tracks and fill a railfan fantasy of using every track in the system ever for revenue service:
Railfan fantasy... damn.

It's just like the Culver line, busy stations that demand frequent service. iinm, the only benefit the <4> has is to help alleviate overcrowding in Lexington, assuming that most of the cars might be empty.

Except it misses the point entirely, even Manhattan bound.

Many of the people that get on at the crowded stations are going to 149th-Grand Concourse, and 125th Street.

All that's going to do is hand those riders off to the Bronx Local 4.

Besides, while there is crowding on the (4) and (5) obviously, assuming trains are running on schedule there is no problem with that. Obviously with the ridership on the east side, any time there's any disruption in service it's going to cause problems whether the 4 is express in the bronx or not.
