MTA New York City Transit

Service Alert

Posted on:10/29/2009 2:20:31 PM

Due to a police investigation at the 135th Street Station, Brighton Beach-bound (:P and Euclid-bound (C) trains are running express between the 145th Street Station and the 125th Street Station.

Also, due to mechanical problems on the South Channel Bridge, the following (A) train service is in effect:

(A) train service is operating between the Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue Station and the Rockaway Park-B 116th Street Station in both directions.

Far Rockaway-bound (A) trains are terminating at the Broad Channel Station or the Howard Beach-JFK Airport Station.

Free shuttle buses are operating between the Rockaway Boulevard Station and the B 98th Street Station.

Please expect delays in (A), (:P and (C) train service.

Not the South Channel Bridge again. Luckily I didn't have to travel at that time today. But in the last few months the bridge has become the single most galling thing about living in the Rockaways. I don't see why the (MTA) can't fix it even after numerous weekend GOs when (A) trains stop at Howard Beach.

Wait, if the bridge has problems, how can the (A) run to Rockaway Park? Unless they really mean Hammels Wye...

The (A) was really messed up yesterday, waits were about 20-35 minutes going to 207. Ugly day for me and other (A) riders.

It's weird because the Lefferts trains weren't coming through either, idk what was going on.
