Fresh Pond Posted November 1, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 1, 2009 Ok I've been tracking the Next Gens since they first came out and came up with a list of where they all are now and where they are possibly gonna go. But there's some buses that I don't know where they are so can anybody tell me where they are now. Please & thanks. The list is below... All info is from either my own observations, ttmg (where the buses are), wikipedia (the numbers), and from here (future places). Everything after 4482 is still unknown as to where they're going. 3800-3829 - Quill 3830-3899 - Manhattanville 3900-3959 - Flatbush 3960 ??? 3961-3964 - Manhattanville 3965-4019 - Castleton 4020-4039 - LaGuardia 4040-4091 - Gun Hill 4092-4139 - Yukon 4140-4169 - JFK 4170-4219 - Casey Stengel 4220-4244 - Flatbush 4245-4278 - Castleton 4330-4407 - Kingsbridge 4408-4416 - Gun Hill 4417 ??? 4418-4420 - Gun Hill 4421 ??? 4422-4428 - Gun Hill 4429 ??? 4430 - Gun Hill 4431 - Jamaica 4432 ??? 4433-4435 - Jamaica 4436 ??? 4437-4445 - Jamaica 4446-4482 - Jamaica (in progress)? 4483-4512 - LaGuardia? 4513-4570 - Grand Avenue? 4571-4630 - Flatbush? 4631-4655 - John F. Kennedy? 4656-4677 - Castleton? 4678-4700 - Jamaica?

LGA has 4483-4512 all in order, Grand Ave is next. Jamaica had a temporary pause in delivery, but I think its resuming with some gaps. All of Gun Hill's NGs are there. I will tell you this though, there will be a major change coming real soon.

Grand Concourse Posted November 1, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 1, 2009 I know it has been asked before, but why are there gaps in the numbers? Shouldn't they send out buses in order like: the first bus ready to leave the plant is then numbered rather than for them to number everything first and then for it to later show up if it isnt ready? jacsnyy Posted November 1, 2009 Share #5 Posted November 1, 2009 What about Ulmer Park? I believe Ulmer Park is the only NYCT depot without any hybrids or CNG buses. Is there any specific reason they haven't recieved any? Upon arrival of hybrids, I assumed the MTA would treat Flatbush and Ulmer Park the same way, both being all RTS depots before the NG07's came out. For the 4300s, it was for MCI D4500CL's 4300-4329, hence why 4330 is there.

Shouldn't they send out buses in order like: the first bus ready to leave the plant is then numbered rather than for them to number everything first and then for it to later show up if it isnt ready? This is just a guess but it might make it easier to ID buses that Orion is currently delivering and are on the road (i.e. an Orion official reports sending out 4473, 4478 and 4476 out on the road for delivery to the ).
