checkmatechamp13 Posted March 10, 2010 Share #151 Posted March 10, 2010 Hmm...Version 12!!! Changes: (U) cut back to Canarsie. cut back to Astoria-Ditmars Blvd. rerouted. Here is the alignment: Starting from 59 Street : Go via Sea Beach to Kings Highway Go via Kings Highway crosstown to Utica Avenue Go via the LIRR line to Ward's Island. Go via a new underground line, as shown in the map. Terminates at 149 Street-Grand Concourse. I think that the U should be the local and the J should be the express. Also, I think that there should be a J diamond that goes express from Bway Junction to Jamaica.

Would it be better if the was express, even if there was no <J>?

Would it be better if the was express, even if there was no <J>? The J is better for the express because it is a longer route. Think about it, the distance from Jamaica to Broadway Junction is longer than the distance from Canarsie to Broadway Junction. The J diamond would be express east of Bway Junction (in addition to west of it, like the .

Kingsbridge Bus Posted March 10, 2010 Share #155 Posted March 10, 2010 It would be cool if there was a train that ran at an even lower level of the Verrezano Bridge.

GojiMet86 Posted March 10, 2010 Share #157 Posted March 10, 2010 Oh well, I stole your idea.:cry::cry: I'm just kidding. About Robert Moses: He was also the one who was responsible for the Dodgers leaving Brooklyn. Sure, Walter gets the heat all the time, but Robert denied Walter a place for the Dodgers to stay. That forced no option but to leave. So, thanks to Moses, the Dodgers left, no more elevateds, and no chance of getting a train across the Verrazano. NX Express Posted March 17, 2010 Author Share #163 Posted March 17, 2010 I like this map, is the (U) underground elevated or cut?, the same question as the other guy.. Since the (U) follows the Bay Ridge RR for the majority of the way, the layout is like this: From 59 Street to Kings Highway - open cut, via Sea Beach line From Kings Highway to Utica Avenue - underground, via Kings Highway crosstown From Utica Avenue to Ward's Island - open cut with one tunnel, via Bay Ridge RR From Ward's Island to 149 Street-Grand Concourse - underground

CenSin Posted March 25, 2010 Share #175 Posted March 25, 2010 I can't think of anything else to progress WITH, and nobody seems to have any suggestions!! …maybe it's out of respect for the way you designed your map. Most people reserve their opinion for blatantly stupid designs, but leave room for creative freedom. I might not like the fact that your service options might be the cause of delays (where there is a lot of track switching), or that no services are available to people in central Bronx (Third Avenue line), but that's something you're entitled to.
