Trainspotter Posted December 17, 2007 Share #1 Posted December 17, 2007 Q train 'Chanukah' teen's Jewish roots Lori Jirovec and her family were newly arrived in Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn, when she set out Chanukah lights on a block that had only seen Christmas decorations. "I said, 'What, are you kidding me? They'll burn us out,'" her husband, Joseph Jirovec, recalled last week. Lori was no less proud to be Jewish for moving into this traditionally Irish and Catholic neighborhood in 1995.
