@JoelUpFront: Your signature is something that Quark would say, while mine is something that Picard actually did say! :)

I love old-school SpongeBob. The movie was okay, but after that, Stephen Hillenberg, the show's original creator, left and Derek Drymon (nice name) has taken over... dear God, is he horrible.

There is a very notable difference with Post-2004. It feels a bit "dumbed" down. I also feel that these newer episodes feature most of the major characters, and that most old-school episodes focused more on just one or two characters.

Isn't that the same actor who plays Plankton (Mr. Lawrence)? :)

But seriously, Spongebob needs a reboot. The series has gone (dare i say) stale in recent years. A good example is the "Mystery with a Twistery" that aired recently. It was (again dare i say) very overhyped, and I was sincerely let down by it. Not only was it way too short (A story like that needs at least a good 45 minutes), but it was just not very entertaining. The jokes were lame, the action unrealistic, and the plot (especially during the climax) too far-fetched to be taken seriously. A reboot like Tomb Raider and Star Trek just had would suit the yellow sea creature well.

Yup...he's also that fish news anchor on the TV :)

And I just found out a few days ago that the same guy who does SpongeBob's voice is also the ice king on Adventure Time with Finn & Jake

This, so much. They really should've just ended the series with the movie. Anyone else notice how squeaky and high-pitched Tom Kenny's Spongebob voice has gotten? I liked it better earlier on, when it was somewhat deeper. Pretty much the only thing the later seasons have over the earlier ones is the better animation.

Oh and, it's pretty hot out. ...What? It's supposed to be random!

I remember back in '05, the last year for half decent radio "contemporary" music, KTU was still playing old-school stuff and this cool cover of Madonna's Like a Prayer kept playing, but then it went to reggaeton (can't stand it at all), and then crappy modern music.

An old HS friend's dad was a sound engineer for KTU back in the '80s, but he told me they treated his dad like dirt, so he quit. He did learn about some sound engineering like when you could tell if a system had too much bass or treble, and what hi, mid, and low were in sound tech.
