This morning on Park Avenue, I saw not one but TWO guys with the motor wheelchairs. The first guy was older and was blazing down the street. I was thinking Jesus I would love to have one of those right now. Speaking of things moving quickly, I haven't saw a Segway in years here in the city. Used to see them a lot in Chelsea....

Wasn't Starrett City the former name of Spring Creek?

Its the opposite. The Starrett City housing development changed its name to the Spring Creek Towers back in the days in 2002. That was due to administrative changes. They are trying to sell the property to a private firm.

So Starrett City was the name before.

I always did wonder why that name stopped appearing.

EDIT:

Man, why does YouTube change its look every month or so? It's so damn annoying! Either stick with one look, or when it does change, just keep it a while!

Everything looks so blocky!

I found a breakdown of the votes by precinct (basically, which areas had a lot of people voting for one candidate or the other, and by what margin). Obviously, the city is heavily democratic, but it was interesting to see which areas had a lot of Republican voters, and which areas were more mixed.

It would be nice if they allowed you to see the numbers for each precinct. I'd be interested to see what the precinct closest to me voted for, because I can't see exactly which one would be mine. I'm pretty sure it voted slightly in favor of Obama

Did anybody else ever see that episode of the Chappelle Show with the "Black White Supremacist"?

Also saw the trailer for the new Star Trek. Do Want.

EDIT: Anyone whose been chatting over Google recently notice the really weird smiley face? I mean, I get what they're trying to do, but it looks weird. Maybe if they didn't add the extra width to the parentheses.

And also, I see the new comment thing on YouTube... I personally don't like it, but it's not horrible.

Why does Red Hook have no data? Related to the storm?

And I also find it interesting that an "affluent" area like Riverdale is mostly Democrat...

Yeah, I thought I saw an explanation, but I forgot where. Probably storm-related.

And forget Riverdale, the UES is heavily Democratic. And a bunch of other wealthy areas like Brooklyn Heights, Greenwich Village, etc.

Like I said in your update, ask Google! It wasn't like that before the takeover.

Now that I think about it, I don't think many people would even have the technical talent, advanced yuppie/hipster ass social skill, and endurance to work for Google. I know ppl who work for Google and man it is a seriously tough environment. It only looks like a "happy, joy, joy" environment (not my words) where you can wear skinny jeans and a mohawk to work. The environment in reality can be biased for many reasons I've learned. I have no shame in saying this, there's many IT professionals that have to ask themselves the same question about the big dot-com companies today.

That being said I wouldn't even mind working for google anyway. I work for yuppies and hipsters as it is now (I mean ollny the assholish ones for sake of damage control) . End of native very poor and struggling New Yorker PC tech/server network support specialist rant.

It's not that shocking... You have a lot Upper West Side and Upper East Side transplants that move to Riverdale, so it makes sense. A few months ago I was chatting with a lady at a bus stop as we were waiting for the express bus and she was talking about how she used to live on the Upper West Side but couldn't deal with the tourists and crowds anymore so she moved to Riverdale. I think some want more space and the quiet suburban flare that Riverdale offers...

This article is a good example: Upper East Side transplants....

What the world needs are more devices that hold every feature of a smartphone minus the ability to make phone calls (and i'm not talking about tablets). In other words something like the iPod touch, that is not an iPod touch (I have something against Apple.)

Want a touch screen Zune?
