Well it may not have gone, but with the leaves already off the trees & the rain, it sure feels like it has.

Joe 781 Posted November 15, 2009 Author Share #10 Posted November 15, 2009 Ugh, winter...with winter comes snow. I think the only nice thing about snow might be the fact that it'll cancel classes for a day.

Joe 781 Posted November 17, 2009 Author Share #12 Posted November 17, 2009 Awesome photos, I like the macro picture of the leaves with the background all blurry Thank you. Ironically that shot was taken with my dirtiest lens (which also has some fungus on the inside).
Grand Concourse 2,690 Posted November 17, 2009 Share #13 Posted November 17, 2009 damn, that is a shame. I think one of my p&s cams has some dirt inside the lens as well. I can't take 'bright' pics or else the dirt will be visible. Sad thing is that at this point it is cheaper to buy a replacement cam than to send it in for repairs. INDman 414 Posted November 17, 2009 Share #16 Posted November 17, 2009 Autumn? Tagged and bagged, it's dead. Now where the hell is the snow, if I don't get a white Christmas they'll be hell to pay.
Joe 781 Posted November 17, 2009 Author Share #17 Posted November 17, 2009 I'm not a big snow fan, but I don't remember the last time we had a White Christmas. I wonder how well my camera would hold up to a little cold & snow.
Grand Concourse 2,690 Posted November 17, 2009 Share #18 Posted November 17, 2009 I know for my p&s cams [due to having retractable lenses], if it gets too cold, the lens will not extend and the battery will die out faster. I haven't tried out my newest cam [T300] yet. That doesn't need the lens to extend out since i just flip the cover down.
Joe 781 Posted November 17, 2009 Author Share #19 Posted November 17, 2009 The battery would probably be the biggest issue. I've heard of people storing them in pockets along with hand warmers so they don't get too cold.
Grand Concourse 2,690 Posted November 17, 2009 Share #20 Posted November 17, 2009 Hem, true. The camera does a little better when the battery is warmed up somewhat. My oldest camera [P92] uses AA batteries, even the best ones will not last more than a minute in the cold. This camera of course is now on the shelf collecting dust because it no longer has any use.
