Ugh, winter...with winter comes snow. I think the only nice thing about snow might be the fact that it'll cancel classes for a day.

damn, that is a shame. I think one of my p&s cams has some dirt inside the lens as well. I can't take 'bright' pics or else the dirt will be visible.

Sad thing is that at this point it is cheaper to buy a replacement cam than to send it in for repairs.

I'm not a big snow fan, but I don't remember the last time we had a White Christmas. I wonder how well my camera would hold up to a little cold & snow.

I know for my p&s cams [due to having retractable lenses], if it gets too cold, the lens will not extend and the battery will die out faster.

I haven't tried out my newest cam [T300] yet. That doesn't need the lens to extend out since i just flip the cover down.

The battery would probably be the biggest issue. I've heard of people storing them in pockets along with hand warmers so they don't get too cold.

Hem, true. The camera does a little better when the battery is warmed up somewhat.

My oldest camera [P92] uses AA batteries, even the best ones will not last more than a minute in the cold. This camera of course is now on the shelf collecting dust because it no longer has any use.
