S78 via Hylan Posted November 23, 2009 Share #26 Posted November 23, 2009 The last RTS I rode in Staten Island was 9423 on the S74 in 2008.
w8Hou Posted November 23, 2009 Share #27 Posted November 23, 2009 Is it possible they can return back to Bronx and SI in future? No, Staten Island local transit is already a Orionville. Bronx has no RTS that are operated on Bronx routes. Bronx still has RTS in Eastchester Depot yard.
Q43LTD Posted November 23, 2009 Share #28 Posted November 23, 2009 Let's see- Last RTS I rode in the Bronx-8366 on the Bx8 November 2008 Last RTS I rode in Staten Island-forgot the number but it was on the S79 in 2008

aemoreira81 Posted November 24, 2009 Share #31 Posted November 24, 2009 I think that bus is with Far Rockaway now I wouldn't be surprised if it has West Farms stickers and New York City Bus labeling; 8407 and 8621 are at FRK with MJQ stickers. Let's see-Last RTS I rode in the Bronx-8366 on the Bx8 November 2008 Last RTS I rode in Staten Island-forgot the number but it was on the S79 in 2008 8366 was at West Farms by then? That bus was at Grand Avenue in summer 2008 and I recall seeing it every so often there until it was retired this month.
Robert Paniagua Posted November 24, 2009 Share #32 Posted November 24, 2009 there are also RTS buses running on the Q35, my favourite bus route from B 116th Street down Newport Avenue to Flatbush Ave , but it also has Orion buses
Grand Concourse Posted November 24, 2009 Share #33 Posted November 24, 2009 Q35 has some 8600s from MJQ, but it is mostly hybrids. Hopefully soon it will also have the Bee Line O5s.

Luis1985 Posted December 2, 2009 Share #35 Posted December 2, 2009 Well they're all listed on Trevor's site, but the majority is like this:9300s-9400s - Ulmer 9600s,5000s-5204 - Flatbush 4900s- ENY also, a few at Queens Village, Jamaica, Grand ave, Fresh Pond, 126 St and Michael J Quill depots as well. S78 via Hylan Posted December 16, 2009 Share #36 Posted December 16, 2009 IMO, Staten Island doesn't have to be orion county. It could have kept a few more RTS buses.
Princelex Posted December 16, 2009 Share #37 Posted December 16, 2009 There are also no more RTS' in the Bronx as well. Sadly, that's true. I miss the RTS's here in the Bronx.

S78 via Hylan Posted December 18, 2009 Share #41 Posted December 18, 2009 I still think SI's bus fleet could be a little more diverse with more than just Orion and MCI.

SoSpectacular Posted December 18, 2009 Share #43 Posted December 18, 2009 Well we got NovaBus and Designline coming in... That'll give you some diversity. I guess.
ciboii22 Posted December 18, 2009 Share #44 Posted December 18, 2009 actually all 9300s from ulmer are gone they are at lga but lga put 9303 in scrap because it got old and it wasnt running good so therefore 9300s at ulmer were nyct brand bus and now they are mta bus brand . and about 6 or 7 9300s are at diffrent depots . 9331 and 9339 are at eny . and they only left us with 9324 , 9330 , 9314 , 9305 , 9301 and 9309 thats all . 9334 is at mjq in manhattan . S78 via Hylan Posted February 11, 2010 Share #45 Posted February 11, 2010 The only RTS that I would like to see on SI before I move are some 4900/5000's, but I doubt that will happen.
Grand Concourse Posted February 11, 2010 Share #46 Posted February 11, 2010 With all the NGs they have, not going to happen. Plus there's still no word if Ulmer will ever get NGs either. If anything the 4900/5000s would eventually go to Ulmer to keep the fleet age 'young'.
S78 via Hylan Posted February 12, 2010 Share #47 Posted February 12, 2010 I wonder why NG's went to Staten Island in the first place.
Grand Concourse Posted February 12, 2010 Share #48 Posted February 12, 2010 Because they were always relying on buses from other depots to swap around when they had poor maintenance. SI was given new buses so they wouldn't need to keep borrowing. And thankfully the depots have gotten better in SI so they don't need to 'trash' other depots' buses. SIR North Shore Posted February 12, 2010 Share #50 Posted February 12, 2010 I wonder why NG's went to Staten Island in the first place. You should definitely know why, since you're from Staten Island too. The entire bus fleet went to hell and SI needed replacements ASAP. And also because there was a deal between the SI Boro President and the MTA for 125 NGs, and another deal between the Port Authority and MTA when the S89 was created for some NGs.
