Amtrak7 Posted December 5, 2009 Share #12 Posted December 5, 2009 Regarding the B/O playing with the signs: I once saw a City of Long Beach bus on Old Country Rd in Plainview whose sign said "Check File". What a shocker that was, both the bus's owner and the sign.
Kingsbridge Bus Posted December 5, 2009 Share #13 Posted December 5, 2009 Once I saw an Orion V from Kingsbridge with it's LED screen saying,Hurracane shelter call SWAT.
Grand Concourse Posted December 5, 2009 Share #14 Posted December 5, 2009 LOL. I wonder if its ungoverned (is that just hybrids?) so it can do high speed chases. Nice catch. A high speed CNG bus? lol, I find that hard to believe...

HAHAHA, I always change my sign to silly stuff like " SIR train to St.George Ferry " , or the best is code 9200 for " EARTH FAIR 2007 - MTA - YOUR DAILY POLLUTION SOLUTION " Code 11 is the one I use the most. Anyone know that one? Its very popular...

Orion Posted December 5, 2009 Author Share #18 Posted December 5, 2009 A high speed CNG bus? lol, I find that hard to believe...V CNGs do 80, VII CNGs do 70+, if ungoverned.

Grand Concourse Posted December 6, 2009 Share #21 Posted December 6, 2009 But they don't [seem] go faster than 40mph.
ILoveMyRDOS Posted December 6, 2009 Share #22 Posted December 6, 2009 Yep, sign code 11 is "NEXT BUS PLEASE" ( my favorite destination ). I believe the NYPD has their own transport buses and command vehicles. I think I have a photo of one or two of them here...
Kingsbridge Bus Posted December 6, 2009 Share #23 Posted December 6, 2009 But they don't go faster than 40mph. It's true, that's why if I see an Orion V behind it, I would take the Orion V. No wonder my morning commute is faster now, it's always Orion V's from West Farms. Inside the Orion VII CNG buses does not look much different from the OG's, but they sound different. Orion Posted December 6, 2009 Author Share #24 Posted December 6, 2009 But they don't go faster than 40mph. You're a liar and a half. I can list all of the ungoverned ones for you. I can list all the ungoverned Artics, VIIs, Vs, and of course NGs in the Bronx are wide open, if they aren't they're capped at 55MPH. All V CNGs do 60MPH or better. Take a ride on the QBx1 and Bx8 you know it all. It's true, that's why if I see an Orion V behind it, I would take the Orion V. No wonder my morning commute is faster now, it's always Orion V's from West Farms. It's usually the driver, not the bus. There's quite a few governed Orion Vs too so they're not much different anyways!
Grand Concourse Posted December 6, 2009 Share #25 Posted December 6, 2009 Jeez just an opinion... I didn't realize how sensitive you are about the CNGs The JG buses I ride hardly ever speeds, then again the streets they run on are narrow and crowded... so not much they can do.
