The MTA has just put the three New Flyer Vikings for sale on their website.

I guess they want a uniform fleet. Those buses are only 8 years old and have low mileage .

So the MTA is finally canning the Vikings. It was only a matter of time before the MTA really wanted to get rid of them.

The Orion VI's are being sold as well. I'm surprised the NYTM is not saving one of each bus model. Its too bad the NYTM couldn't save more or at least gain more space for the storage of buses.

I saw 996 not in service on the LIE and in the Midtown Tunnel while on a QM4. It may have been going to do a run on the X51.

I don't think they would still be in service, if they are selling them. That would screw up the mileage on them they posted. Maybe someone bought it already. Did the driver have on an MTA uniform?

998 was in service on the X51 today.

I don't get why they would leave them in service, to just rack up more mileage and could get into an accident. Those things right there can depreciate the value even more.

My friend, I don't have to think if the MTA cares about value. They care about the value of their equipment, and their personnel they invested in. They treat the machines with the most TLC, and their rank and file employees with the highest regard.
