jr927 Posted December 5, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 5, 2009 Does anybody know if the MTA BO salary (starting I believe at $17 per hour) goes up in scale like the Fire or police dept? For example when your on the job for a certain # of years does the salary increase to max pay? If so, do you know the scale on how it is done and the salary? Will-Bx-718 Posted December 5, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 5, 2009 Does anybody know if the MTA BO salary (starting I believe at $17 per hour) goes up in scale like the Fire or police dept? For example when your on the job for a certain # of years does the salary increase to max pay? If so, do you know the scale on how it is done and the salary? B/O starting hourly salary starts at $18.8450 to a maximum of $26.92 per hour. All MTA positions except for train operator take 3 years to reach top pay. The scale should go something like $1 increase after 1 year to $19.85-20 per hour, 23-24 per hour with 2 years on the job and top pay in the third year. So basically Starting pay 70%>75%>85%>100% Top pay. Average B/O salary at top pay is about $63,000 per year, $75,000-$85000 With overtime. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_New_York_City_transit_strike#Average_MTA_Salaries
