New York City takes aim at illegal sales of realistic-looking toy guns

City officials are launching an ad campaign as part of a crackdown on illegal sales of realistic-looking toy guns.

Public service ads will be posted on buses and subways throughout the city featuring a red gun and a black one and will ask the question: Which is real and which is a toy?

In addition, fines for selling illegal toy guns will be sharply raised from $1,000 maximum per sale to $5,000 maximum for a first offense and up to $8,000 for repeat offenses.

A third conviction in two years could also padlock a store for up to five days.

How about instead of going after toy guns, why don't we try and...TEACH CHILDREN NOT TO BE PERPS?!

Oh wait, I must have forgot...this is a way of life for most of them.

The PERPS campaign

Perps Equals Retards Playing Stupid :)

The nanny state strikes again...

Better yet why don't they just ban all guns, real, toy, cap, etc. as well as on TV, media, and the internet.

That way, when they become adults and go somewhere else, it will be "oooh what does this button do?" and on display for the whole world will be the effects of censorship as opposed to teaching people to be responsible.

I think that it is important for realistic toy guns to be phased out only because many officers, upon seeing one, will take it to be a real gun. They will then respond in kind, but much more fatally. Lives will be saved...

But parents should also teach their children to not shoot people... guns are not the solution in the real world.
